Liverpool have two attackers on the radar to deal with Isak’s absence

Alexander Isak’s serious injury against Tottenham Hotspur has hit Liverpool at a crucial stage of the season, forcing a review of tactical plans and transfer strategies, sources close to the agent industry say. CaughtOffside.

The Swede, who is Liverpool’s record signing, was injured during the win in north London and now faces a long spell on the sidelines, leaving Arne Slot with no choice but to adapt quickly as the club chases success on multiple fronts.

Isak’s absence is particularly damaging given his importance to Liverpool’s attacking structure.
With the recovery expected to take several months, this is not a temporary problem, it is one that could define Liverpool’s season.

Soon, attention turned to Hugo Ekitike, who scored a goal in the same game that Isak was injured. The young forward is now the most natural option to lead the line, and Slot is expected to show faith in him as a top center fielder.

The situation is more tense due to the absence of Mohamed Salah, who is not in the Africa Cup of Nations. With Salah unavailable and Isak injured, Liverpool’s midfield suddenly looks thin, putting more pressure on the remaining attackers.

As a result, Florian Wirtz may be asked to take on a more advanced role. There is a growing belief that Slott may use Wirtz as a “false nine” at times, or at least give him more freedom between the lines to compensate for the lack of a known forward.

Behind the scenes, Liverpool’s management is already reacting. One top name being considered is Antoine Semenyo. The Ghanaian is admired for his versatility, fitness and Premier League experience.

His ability to work in twos and in midfield makes him very attractive in current situations, while his existing relationship with sporting director Richard Hughes strengthens his case.

Another option is Igor Thiago, who has impressed with his goals in the Premier League this season. The striker has scored 11 goals in 17 league games so far this season.

Liverpool see him as a stylish fit, but Brentford are reluctant to part with one of their key players in the middle of the season unless a rare offer comes along.

With injuries, foreign absences, and a severe cold throughout the competition, Liverpool now face a deadline.

How Slott balances internal solutions with potential January guarantees could ultimately determine whether the Reds maintain their momentum.
