Real Madrid have emerged as a surprise contender in the race to replace Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, with speculation mounting that the Spanish giants are seriously considering a potential move for the Portuguese international.
Fernandes has been continuously linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent months, with clubs in Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer previously interested.
However, attention is now firmly back in Europe, with Real Madrid reportedly monitoring the situation.
According to a report from Fichajes, Fernandes could be available for around 60 million Euros, which is considered to be the best in Real Madrid’s financial reach.
The report adds that clubs outside the Premier League are able to activate a release clause at that price point, making the deal easier if Los Blancos decide to formalize their interest.
