Arsenal have appointed bowling specialist Thomas Grønnemark

Arsenal have taken another bold step in their pursuit of Premier League glory by hiring world-renowned hurling specialist Thomas Grønnemark, according to The Times.

The Danish coach, who is regarded as a leading set-piece specialist, has been working with the club as a consultant in recent weeks, making several visits to London Colney to pass on his expertise as Mikel Arteta looks to extract every possible advantage.

Grønnemark is best known for his influential role at Liverpool, where his innovative tactics helped transform the Reds’ performance during the early years of Jürgen Klopp’s tenure.

His career contributed to Liverpool’s rise to one of Europe’s most formidable clubs, helping them secure the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Club World Cup.

His techniques focus not only on long throws, but on creating structured patterns, movement triggers, and overloads designed to retain and advance possession, turning what is often an overlooked resume into a tactical weapon.

Arteta, who has already changed Arsenal’s results with the help of specialist coach Nicolas Jover, is determined to leave nothing behind.

Bringing Grønnemark on board shows that commitment. Arsenal have built a reputation this season for careful preparation and good margins, and the addition of a new coach shows their intention to continue to innovate as the title race heats up.

The Gunners currently sit six points ahead of Manchester City, but those inside the club are well aware of their history of leaving the season.

Last year’s collapse still lingers in the background, and Arteta is determined to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Arsenal’s recent draw against goalscoring Liverpool threatened to derail their momentum, but the side have since settled down, extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to eight games following the defeat at Aston Villa in December.

With confidence high and improvement, Arsenal appear to be firmly on the path to a major trophy under Arteta.

Spain’s only previous silverware, the 2020 FA Cup, came behind closed doors in a season affected by Covid. The Premier League title would not only mark a historic achievement but also a confirmation of Arteta’s long-term project.

Hiring Grønnemark is another indication of that ambition. Arsenal’s set-pieces have become a key pillar in their success, and with competition at an all-time high, the club believes that mastering set-pieces can give them an edge over their fiercest rivals.
