Personal terms agreed with Tammy Abraham

Aston Villa are progressing in talks to sign Tammy Abraham, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Midlands club have been quick to pursue the former Chelsea striker, aiming to bring him back to Villa Park to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the season.

Following Donyell Malen’s departure to AS Roma earlier this window, Unai Emery has prioritized a proven striker, and Abraham has emerged as the clear front-runner.

According to the latest update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano at X, the deal is progressing quickly.

Romano has confirmed that the deal has been “closed” for the player, with Abraham having “opened the door” to a return to Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old striker plies his trade in Turkey with Besiktas, where he has been in fine form this season.

However, the complexity of the transfer lies in his contractual status; while he is currently on loan at Besiktas from AS Roma, the Turkish giants are reportedly in talks to buy him.

Despite these setbacks, Romano reports that group-to-group negotiations are “moving quickly” and “going well.”

Although a deal has yet to be done, the determination of all parties to find a solution, combined with the player’s clear desire to return to the Premier League, suggests that a deal could be close.

“Aston Villa are progressing in talks with Besiktas to complete the deal for Tammy Abraham. The deal is closed with the player as Tammy opens the door for #AVFC to leave. Team to team talks are moving fast, not done yet but going well.”

Abraham’s excellent record with English clubs

Aston Villa fans need no introduction to Tammy Abraham. During his previous loan spell in the 2018/19 season, he was instrumental in promoting the club to the top flight, scoring 26 goals in 40 appearances.

His relationship with the Villa faithful remains strong, and his return is likely to be met with widespread enthusiasm.

Apart from his time in the Championship, Abraham has a strong history with English clubs. He has directly contributed to 113 goals across his spells for the English clubs, highlighting his consistency at multiple levels.

During his time at Chelsea, he registered 15 league goals in the 2019/20 season and has been establishing himself as a versatile forward, capable of leading the line at the highest level.
