Speaking in this week’s episode of The Overlap, this Australian coach did not hide himself as he emphasized that Spurs is not a big club.
Watch below as Postecoglou explains how he feels Tottenham need proven Premier League players such as Bryan Mbeumo, Pedro Neto, Antoine Semenyo, and Marc Guehi, but the club haven’t brought them in due to salary constraints…

Postecoglou has clearly been left unhappy by Tottenham, slamming their club’s motto of “having the courage to act” when they behaved in a completely different manner.
Ange Postecoglou aims to dig into Tottenham’s transfer policy
“What are they trying to do? They have built an unbelievable stadium, unbelievable training facilities, but if you look at the costs, especially in the salary system, they are not a big club,” said the 60-year-old.
“I saw that because when we tried to sign players, we were not in the market for those players.
“There are some players that we…I mean, at the end of my first year when we finished in fifth place, for me, okay, how do you go from fifth place to being really challenged?
“But finishing fifth that year didn’t get us into the Champions League, so we ended up signing Dom Solanke, who was very ambitious, I like him a lot, and three young players.
“I was looking at Pedro Neto, Mbeumo, and Semenyo. Marc Guehi. If we’re going to go from fifth place to there, that’s what other big clubs would do at that time.”
He added: “You know, when you go into Tottenham, what you see everywhere is ‘you dare’ – it’s everywhere. Yet their actions are almost like that.”
Ange Postecoglou’s mixed record at Tottenham
THFC fans may have mixed memories of Postecoglou’s reign, as he failed to make a good start in north London.
Despite playing ambitious and attacking football at times, Postecoglou’s Spurs side looked a bit out of sorts for most of the time, and went from fifth to 17th in the table in the space of a year.
Nevertheless, Postecoglou also delivered the Europa League trophy to the club after a stunning 1-0 win over Manchester United in last season’s final, which was some success considering the treacherous conditions he was operating in.
Postecoglou returned to Premier League management with Nottingham Forest earlier this season, but did not last long as he suffered a dismal record of six defeats and two draws in just eight games in charge.
