When the second round ended on Friday evening, Ryo Hisatsune was at the top of the leaderboard. But unlike after Round 1, he has some company now.
Two-time PGA Tour winner Akshay Bhatia shot an impressive 64 on Friday at Spyglass Hill to claim a tie for the lead at 15 under. Rickie Fowler has matched Bhatia’s score at Spyglass and will start Round 3 one shot behind the leaders.
Keegan Bradley and Jordan Spieth are among the group tied at 10 under, while Rory McIlroy is one shot back at nine under. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler rallied from a slow start to record a six-under 66 at Spyglass Hill in Round 2, putting him in trouble for the weekend.
After playing both Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill in the first two rounds, all players will compete at Pebble Beach in Saturday’s third round.
