Harry Kane today scored his 500th goal in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over Werder Bremen, and he managed to reach the milestone in fewer games than Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 32-year-old has arguably been one of the greatest strikers of his generation, producing regularly for Bayern, as well as his former club Tottenham, as well as the England national team.
Read on for statistics and facts about Kane’s 500 goals after this memorable period in his illustrious career at the highest level.
Harry Kane managed to reach 500 goals in 743 games
If you’re interested, that’s ten fewer games than it took Ronaldo, but he won’t be too concerned about that now that he’s closing in on a ridiculous 1000 goals.
Lionel Messi succeeded quickly, however, with the Barcelona and Argentina legend needing only 632 games to reach 500 goals.
Apart from Messi and Ronaldo, other footballers who have scored more than 500 goals are Robert Lewandowski (690), Luis Suarez (600), Karim Benzema (517).
100 of Harry Kane’s goals were penalties
Kane has certainly been Mr. Faithful since then, so perhaps it’s no surprise that one of his goals today was a penalty.
Harry Kane is the all-time leading goalscorer for Tottenham and England
Kane has the right to be the all-time leading goalscorer for one of his clubs, as well as his national team.

The former striker surpassed Jimmy Greaves towards the end of his Spurs career, finishing with 280 goals for the north London club in total.
| Tottenham leading the way in goals | Games | Goals |
| Harry Kane | 435 | 280 |
| Jimmy Greaves | 381 | 268 |
| Bobby Smith | 317 | 208 |
| Martin Chivers | 367 | 174 |
| Son Heung-min | 454 | 173 |
Kane also surpassed Wayne Rooney as England’s record goalscorer not long after the former Manchester United and Everton man himself overtook Bobby Charlton, whose record looked safe for a very long time.
Kane is now so far away, however, that it will probably be a very long time before we see anyone else go ahead of him, as he is still a few years away from adding to his 78 goals for Englandā¦

| England’s leading scorers | Games | Goals |
| Harry Kane | 112 | 78 |
| Wayne Rooney | 120 | 53 |
| Bobby Charlton | 106 | 49 |
| Gary Lineker | 80 | 48 |
| Jimmy Greaves | 57 | 44 |
Kane may never be in contention to become Bayern’s top goalscorer, but he is undeniably still impressive, only seven goals away from breaking into the top ten, which isn’t bad considering he’s almost in his third season at the club.
