Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given the latest update on the future of German midfielder Leon Goretzka.
The Bayern Munich star has been linked with the club, especially in the Premier League with players such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham.
Goretzka will be a free agent at the end of the season and may leave the German giants for a new challenge in another league.
The 31-year-old midfielder will not be short of offers as he prepares for a new adventure in what has become an impressive career.
The experienced player has won many titles with Bayern Munich. He brings a calming influence to the midfield as well as his strength and experience at the highest level.
Romano issues an update on Goretzka’s future
The Bayern Munich star was heavily linked with Man United in the January transfer window and now Romano has released an update on his future.
“Goretzka will leave Bayern as a free agent,” said Romano on his YouTube channel.
“We’re starting to have a few rumors about Goretzka and I’m sure there will be more because he’s one of the potential free agents in the summer.
“He doesn’t stay at Bayern, we know it’s legal. He has many opportunities, in Italy, there are clubs that are interested.
“Napoli, there was contact with AC Milan, so Italy could be a solution. In Germany, other clubs would like to try Goretzka, but my understanding is that Goretzka’s best option is to go abroad and try something different.
“And also from the Premier League. In the Premier League there have been some calls.
“I can assure you that despite the rumors in January, Leon Goretzka has not agreed anything with Manchester United.
“Therefore nothing has been previously agreed or signed between Goretzka and United, let’s see what United decide to do with the midfielders.
“Remember that Atletico Madrid have already tried [for Goretzka] in the January window, and Tottenham also tried in the January window, so we have to see what will happen with these two clubs. [in the summer].”
Man United need an experienced player like Goretzka
Goretzka will be a necessary player in the summer transfer window.
The top teams in Europe, especially in England and Spain, are keen to sign him.
He may not be the player he was a few years ago but his experience is still valuable to many clubs looking to sign an experienced midfielder.
Man United could make a move for him after Casemiro left at the end of the season.
Goretzka may offer something different to the Red Devils compared to Casemiro.
More importantly, he will instill a winning spirit in the team and would be the right addition to young players like Kobbie Mainoo.
