Zach Whitecloud is in no rush to get out of Calgary, and the middle market includes Nazem Kadri.

“Calgary, I heard that. I heard a few things with Calgary. The first thing I heard, because there were a lot of questions about Whitecloud. What were they going to do with Whitecloud? Another team told me that they heard that Whitecloud is in no hurry to get out of there. That he is not, he is not someone who comes out and says, ‘No, this is not another place, and I will not go anywhere else. It is not.
Now, that doesn’t mean he’s not for sale. It just means that the Flames are happy to have happy players there, and they are not willing to move him. They got a great gift. Watch out. There is nothing else you can do. You get a good offer. He jumps into it. But I just heard from a few teams that Whitecloud pointed to the Flames, he’s happy to stay, so they’re not pushing him to the top of the list, we have to trade this guy.
The biggest challenge I think the Flames will have is that all of their guys are competitive. Kadri, I think people like Kadri, the player. I’m not sure if they’re crazy about the name. Also, there are other institutions. There is Trocheck, whom you mentioned. There’s O’Reilly, who we’ll get to. There are other facilities available. So even though I think people like Kadri, a middle-of-the-pack player and term, I think that’s the challenge the Flames are going to have.
And like I said, people like (Blake) Coleman, people like (MacKenzie) Weegar, but there are other players around them. And Conroy has shown that he is not afraid of patience. And if you look at some of the deals he’s made to get younger, when he’s had a chance to wait, he’s done a great job using that.

But the key I heard there is that Whitecloud is in no rush to leave, so they are in no rush to move him.”
