West Ham duo Bowen and Summerville could leave in the summer

West Ham United have been told that both Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summervilla could leave the club if the Hammers avoid relegation.

Struggling to find consistency this season, the Hammers have flirted with defeat all season.

That has raised questions about the future of their key players as clubs realize they have the opportunity to steal key players away from the Hammers.

The chances of relegation this season are great but even if they stay in the Premier League, Keith Wyness believes that Bowen and Summerville will leave the club to face a new challenge elsewhere.

West Ham United have been warned

Former Everton CEO Wyness believes the Hammers will be working in the summer transfer window to make major changes to the club.

He told Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast: “I think Bowen and Summerville were talked about in January to continue, and I’m sure they’ve been hammered to continue in the summer.

“So West Ham will be a very active club in terms of reorganizing the squad, whatever stage they are in. Also, I would just add that West Ham have never done well to have a stable sporting director and squad there.

“There always seems to be disagreements with the management and that didn’t work out. And that will come home to improve now in terms of the club’s performances at the moment. And again, does that mean they’re going to have a really cohesive strategy going into the summer?

“It’s a club in deep trouble right now, and deep trouble from the top. So let’s see how they continue this relegation battle, but financially, and I think football-wise, there are big questions and big red lights flashing right now.”

Bowen is West Ham’s talisman, captain, and easily their most consistent player. He is tied to a long-term contract until 2030, protecting his value.

However, as an England international, playing Championship football is out of the question.

Aston Villa have reportedly started making initial inquiries about his availability in the summer window.

If West Ham manage to hold out, they will want a “hands off” fee to consider letting him go. However, if the club is relegated, a major transfer dispute is expected.

Summerville were in electric form in the second half of the 2025/26 season, scoring important goals and carrying West Ham and Bowen’s biggest threat. This purple streak naturally put him on the radar of several top clubs across Europe.

But, like Bowen, if the downgrade happens, Summerville will be one of the first out the door to help fill the financial gaps associated with the downgrade.
