2026 Players Championships Thursday tee times: Round 1 teams
The 2026 Players Championship will begin on Thursday, March 12, with the opening round at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. You can find the full Players Championship times for Thursday’s first round at the bottom of this post.
Included tee times for round 1
Two months after the start of the 2026 PGA Tour season, we have now reached the first major tournament of the year: The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Players field the strongest field throughout the season, with the best tour pros eligible to play.
It also has a large annual prize fund at $25 million.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, a two-time winner of The Players Championship, is the big betting favorite this week. He lifted the trophy at TPC Sawgrass in 2023 and 2024. Scheffler has already won this season and is looking to find his best form ahead of next month’s Masters.
Rory McIlroy’s status among players is a mystery. The defending champion withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a back injury, and the injury delayed his arrival to the players.
Scheffler will begin his opening round on Thursday at 8:52 am ET along with playing partners Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas.
