NHL Injuries: Flames, Blackhawks Avs, Panthers, Wild, Flyers, Pens, Sharks, and Leafs

Bruce Miles: Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Mangiapane and defenseman Louis Crevier suffered injuries Thursday, missing last night’s game and possibly Sunday’s.

Corey Masisak: Colorado Avalanche forwards Ross Colton, Gabe Landeskog, Artturi Lehkonen and Logan O’Connor were all on the ice yesterday morning.

  • Corey Masisak: Avs coach Jared Bednar indicated that they could bring back one player on Sunday, and that there’s a chance they could all return at some point in their trip.

Tracey Myers: Bednar yesterday before their match against Landeskog: “(Landeskog) seems to be doing really well, Connor seems to be doing really well, they are all improving, but we will just check the medical staff and the player, make a plan for the day and see what the next day is like.

“We could hear at any time that they are ready to go, it just won’t be tonight.”

Laurence Heinen: Florida Panthers Niko Mikkola left last night’s game in the first half after spraining his knee. He needed help on the ice and couldn’t bear much weight on his left leg.

The NHL: Los Angeles Kings forward Joel Armia is back in the lineup after missing 10 games with a back injury.

Jesse Pierce: Minnesota Wild forwards Joel Eriksson Ek and Kirill Kaprizov will not be in the lineup today and are day-to-day. Coach Jon Hynes: “We want to make sure that when they come back, which will happen soon, that they are ready to go, and give them the right amount of time.”

Kevin Kurz: Philadelphia Flyers forward Sean Couturier is dealing with a lower back injury, and they are not sure how long he will be out, but it is not expected to be long.

The NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Sam Girard could return to the lineup tonight.

Sheng Peng: San Jose Sharks forwards Tyler Toffoli and Igor Chernyshov, defenseman Vincent Desharnais and goaltender Jaroslav Askarov were off the ice at practice. Forward Ty Dellandrea wore an untethered jersey.

NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs, Flyers, Wildcats, Hurricanes, Sabres, Penguins, and Canadiens

David Alter: Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies has been playing through a knee injury, and if there was any thought of being shut down.

“It’s the kind of injury that I don’t think could get any worse. So I don’t think there’s any risk of me playing. Obviously it’s not comfortable to play with, but everybody’s playing with something, I feel like, at this time of year. So that’s not really an excuse. But, if it’s not going to get any worse, then there’s no problem with me playing.”

Mark Masters: Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly returned to the ice yesterday after missing Thursday due to illness.
