NHL Rumors: Dallas and Calgary Talking Nazem Kadri
Steve Kouleas: “The ice ends at 11:59 on the 22nd and we have 12 days left. I see on your list here that Nazem Kadri is in the seven hole. Are you going to make sure Kadri isn’t a Flame on March 7th, Dave?”
Dave Pagnotta: “I won’t guarantee anything, but I will definitely say that if the right offer is there, Calgary will make that move, if they feel it is the right one. He has been conveyed to the team that if there is an opportunity to move him, he is open to that. I believe they have a list of teams that will accept a trade, and among him, MacKenzimé maybe Ryanberg and other teams. One. He is a pending UFA, but he has been creating some interest.
I don’t think Calgary is going to be one thing by getting rid of (Ramus) Andersson anyway. I think they’re going to have a few other things they’re going to try to accomplish.”
Minnesota wants a Center
Fourth Period’s Dave Pagnotta joined SiriusXM NHL Network along with Steve Kouleas and Nate Thompson and was asked about the Minnesota Wild’s search for a center and who the other targets will be.

NHL Rumors: Minnesota Wild, and Ottawa Senators
Nate Thompson: “Dave, rumor has it that the Wild are looking for another starting, second-line center with time. What other potential players and less time would be available to the Wild?”
Dave Pagnotta: “I go back to Minny’s (Vincent) Trocheck. I think there’s somebody on their radar. I don’t know if they’ve had any serious discussions yet, but that’s a player they’re interested in. And obviously, Bill Guerin is familiar with the USA player. I think they’ll look at a few others, see what’s out there.
I mean, it looks like I was talking about Columbus. I think they will have a discussion with Charlie Coyle’s camp to see if they can work something out. If I’m not even with them on the heater right now, I can see Coyle being a target for many teams, including Minnesota. I have to think guys like Ryan O’Reilly and Brayden Schenn will be on their radar as well.
NHL Rumors: Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche
Now in separation, so things get complicated. I don’t know Nashville, unless there is an overpayment, really wants to part with O’Reilly right now. But Schenn could be a victim of that side of things, too.
So this, these next few weeks, will really help determine some of the market, and if some of these players are available because their teams feel they can’t sign them today to extensions, and they’re better off trying to get assets and lose them in July, that could open up a team like Minnesota, fishing.”
