Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, and Utah Mammoth

Do Ducks, Sharks, and Goats Want to Be Consumers?

Dave Pagnotta of the Fourth Season joined Sirius XM NHL Network Radio on Monday with Gord Stellick and Scott Laughlin. He was asked about the possibility of playing for the Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Utah Mammoth, and Chicago Blackhawks. However, Pagnotta revealed that the Ducks, Mammoth, and Sharks want to add.

NHL Rumors: Don’t Get Caught in the Tongue About the Vancouver Canucks and Kiefer Sherwood

Gord Stellick: “So Dave, West, and we’re going to Bill Armstrong in about 45 minutes, the general manager of Utah. So you’ve got the New Kids on the Block, two California teams in Anaheim and San Jose, and two perennial non-playoff teams in Chicago. Same with Utah/Arizona, and they’ve all had a little bit early.

Now, it seems that no one is leaving. Chicago looked like it was going to go, and have a great week. And I’m curious about those four, as we get to the dog days, and who you feel is the most optimistic, if you had to rank one or two of them the most eligible to make the playoffs. So Anaheim, San Jose, Chicago and Utah. “

About the Anaheim Ducks:

Dave Pagnotta: “Gord, I still like what Anaheim was able to do. And I, I thought they were going to regress a little bit as the season went on. And they still might, but I still see this team as a playoff team the way they’re doing, with the scoring they got from (Lukas) Dostal and Leo Carlsson, Troy Terry leading the way and Troy Terry. (Beckett) Sennecke too.

NHL Rumors: Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, and San Jose Sharks

And they’re a well-rounded group, deeper, deeper than I expected in terms of overall production. Chris Kreider has scored 13 goals this season. He has been giving. They get help from their depth in the bottom six as well. And this is a team that I think continues to lurk, the kind of weed with GM in Pat Verbeek looking to see if he can make another splash and add to this team, not just now, but for the foreseeable future. They are looking for a player they can bring in who can be controlled on time. Kind of mid 20s, maybe early 20s, kind of range. It may not be now. I might have to wait until summer, but I like the overall design of the ducks.”

About the San Jose Sharks:

Pagnotta: “I like San Jose, especially since, obviously, what can you do with the way Macklin Celebrini has done this season, he’s third in the NHL in scoring. I just, I think they’re not there, I don’t think they’re there yet. I think the depth needs to kick in. Some of the younger guys are really helping him, when I start thinking, I think. They can add a few pieces, which, this is another team, Mike Greier is looking at, but also listen to the value of his players.

NHL Rumors: Trade Prices Could Be Higher Than First Thought

They got Alex Wennberg to sign a three-year extension yesterday, but they also counted on some of their defenders, and I saw San Jose as a buyer and a seller leading up to the trade deadline of March 6. I don’t think there is enough at the moment very smart, to be a legitimate, consistent team to play. They will get there, no question. This will be a fun team to watch, and so will the Ducks consistently. But I look at San Jose a little differently.

On Utah Mammoth and Chicago Blackhawks:

Pagnotta: “Chicago, the same situation, deep intelligence, yes, there. And that’s the thing about the league, especially now, and with these teams, you have all these teams with these young studs who are really playing, and you just need to have a little horse power to put them on top. I don’t think San Jose and Chicago are there yet.

NHL Rumors: Utah Mammoth, and Anaheim Ducks

And I think Utah is kind of that bubble wildcard of a team that, if they add, which I’m sure Bill won’t tell you, he keeps things close to the chest, but he’s another guy who’s always there lurking and looking to see if he can make a splash, and he’s got the ownership to back it up.

So out of three, sorry, out of four, I look at Anaheim as a team that will keep going and has enough in the tank to push for the playoffs. I think the other three are probably just on the way. And we’ll see what kind of moves they make to maybe help their chances. Be there now or come next season.”
