Real Madrid are interested in appointing Jurgen Klopp as manager

Real Madrid are seriously considering Jürgen Klopp as a long-term managerial solution, with a view to appointing him ahead of the 2026/27 season, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
Although no official action has yet been taken, club officials are aware that Klopp, who has been sidelined for several months, could be open to a return, as he is believed to miss the rigor and daily rhythm of the touchline.
The interest comes at a difficult time for Real Madrid, who have decided to part ways with Xabi Alonso following their defeat in the Supercopa de España.
Alonso, who arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu with high expectations, is struggling to cope with the enormous pressure of managing one of the most demanding football centers in the world. His tenure ends before completing a full season.
Xabi Alonso leaves Real Madrid in surprise
Under Alonso, Real Madrid sit in 2nd place in La Liga, four points behind their arch rivals Barcelona. Although the league position remains respectable, the games often lack confidence.
The main concern of the club’s leadership is Madrid’s place in the Champions League, where they are currently in 7th place in the group stage, which is far below European historical standards.
Against this background, Real Madrid’s interest in Klopp becomes clear. The German is widely regarded as one of the defining coaches of his generation.
His record at Borussia Dortmund, where he won back-to-back Bundesliga titles and reached the final of the Champions League, and at Liverpool, where he led the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup, shows his ability to rebuild high-quality teams, inspire players emotionally, and maintain high performance over many seasons.
Klopp currently serves as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull Football Group, a role that keeps him in touch with high-level football but away from the dugout.
Jurgen Klopp is ready to return to management

Those close to him suggest that he still has a passion for coaching and would be “tempted” by the opportunity to lead one of the biggest clubs in the world.
For Real Madrid, Klopp represents a manager who asserts his identity, intensity, and authority, qualities that the club feels are important in their next cycle.
His people management skills, intelligence, and proven success in two tough European competitions make him the right man to enter the new era at the Bernabéu.
After winning the Bundesliga and Premier League, a move to Spain will give him the opportunity to test himself in La Liga and pursue the one major domestic title missing from his CV.
