Srixon unveils its softest tour-level ball ever with the new Q-Star Tour

Srixon’s new Q-Star Tour golf balls are not only faster and softer than the previous generation, but also smarter.
The latest iteration features a new thin, premium urethane cover made from Biomass, which the company says helps reduce carbon emissions during production without sacrificing performance. The same cover is used in the Z-Star range.
“The Q-Star Tour series is all about delivering tour-level spin and control, especially on the greens, but in a compact design that better matches swing speed,” Srixon Vice President of Business Planning Brian Schielke said in a release. “It gives golfers the performance they want from tee to green without needing tour-level swing speed to unlock it. And with the latest innovations and bold new color options for the Divide, a ball that not only performs at a high level but stands out while doing it.”
Biomass is a plant-based product that can be used to replace petroleum-based materials in urethane to create a cover that is inseparable from fossil fuels.
The new IQ-Star Tour also has a new FastLayer core that gets stronger from the inside out. This helps produce longer and straighter shots with lower clubs while maintaining a soft and responsive feel with irons and wedges.
The result is what Srixon calls the softest Tour-level golf ball.
The IQ-Star Tour also features a Spin Skin+ coating that helps dig deeper into the club’s grooves for greater friction.
Finally, the ball has a 338 Speed Dimple pattern, optimized to reduce drag and create a ball flight that does not have a high distance.
