- Jameson Olive: Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice on whether Tkachuk will be ready to play in the Winter Classic: “As much as we love the spectacle of it and we’d love for him to be a part of it and it would be great for the game to see him there, the Florida Panthers need him healthy and need him all year.”
NHL Rumors: There May Be Fewer Trades Than We Think
Jameson Olive: Panthers coach Maurice said forward Jonah Gadjovich may not return before the Olympics. Defender Dmitri Kulikov is likely to return in mid-March.
Maurice: “There is a reason for that window. Yes, there are boys who came back early, but then there are a lot of boys who have been there for a long time.”

Elliotte Friedman: Maple Leafs forward William Nylander missed last night’s game and the rest of the day.
Jeff Paterson: Vancouver Canucks coach Adam Foote on forward Filip Chytil: “Two to three weeks? I see less than four, but I don’t know for sure. We’ve got to get him back up to speed, but he’s had a really good couple of weeks which is a really good sign. Knowing he hasn’t regressed in two weeks is huge. If we believe he’ll be able to make full contact.”
Danny Webster: Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel is day-to-day and will not be in tonight’s lineup. It was not clear if he would play on Wednesday.
