The Chicago Blackhawks could trade Ilya Mikheyev
Scott Powers and Mark Lazerus of The Athletic: Ilya Mikheyev feels like Chicago is home, where it was a different story when he managed the Vancouver Canucks. Mikheyev kills penalties and adds scoring depth, but he could find himself on the road again.
Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson should evaluate the market for Mikheyev leading up to the trade deadline. The same can be said for Jason Dickinson and Conno Murphy.
“I can’t control this, so I don’t think about it,” said Mikheyev. “Let’s see what will happen. I don’t have the last word. No one is going to ask (me), so why should I worry about this?”
GM Davidson has to remember that they will need to move up the payroll, so he will pay veterans.
