Friedman: “So the other things. If you look over there. Mangiapani, the second episode, you know, we’ll see, we’ll see. The, you know, one of the teams told me that it’s like, if you believe in the PDO statistics, which is your shooting percentage and the percentage of your team. Obviously, his is really bad. So that’s like a kind of luck of unofficial. That means you don’t get lucky to shoot and you don’t get to get save luck if he is in the snow.

NHL Rumors: Don’t Get Caught in the Tongue About the Vancouver Canucks and Kiefer Sherwood

I think the Oilers will be able to find a place to stay in Mangiapani. One year left. It is $3.6 (million). I don’t think it will be too difficult. He has shown that he can score. It just isn’t, as you look at Mason Marchment. Marchment was not a good fit in Seattle. It didn’t work. He went to Columbus. He was very nice to them. So you can see other players go and have a change. We will see what happens.

I talked about Anaheim on Saturday night, and one of them, there’s two reasons I mentioned it. First, they have started to struggle. As if they have a bunch of guys who have never been through this meat grinder before. Really talented team, good veterans. You know, the (Radko) Gudas, (Jacob) Trouba’s, (Chris) Krieder’s. They just had a major injury to (Frank) Vatrano. You will be out for a while. And I just wondered if they might want a veteran to help some of their kids get through this, and have a place to dress.

The other thing there, too, is that I had people who thought that. They thought that, like (Ryan) Strome’s Mangiapane deal, it would make sense. You know, the problem is that Strome makes about a million and a half more than Mangiapani and Edmonton doesn’t have the cap room to take all that. So it would be interesting to see how Anaheim would feel about that whole situation.

I also heard, although I haven’t confirmed about the Oilers, but I heard that they are looking for a player who will probably be more receptive to the position that Mangiapani would start playing. Like the bottom half, you know, someone who won’t get as much of a chance, maybe, to play with Leon (Draisaitl) or Connor (McDavid). That maybe that place wouldn’t exist that much. So we will see. And Strome was no match for that.

NHL Rumors: Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, and Anaheim Ducks

So that’s what I felt with him. You know, I’ve had people say to me that they wonder if Toronto can do it. Like maybe (Matias) Maccelli kind of moves. But I don’t think Toronto will do that. Obviously, I think some people said that because Treliving apparently had a Mangiapane in Calgary. I don’t think so. But I think they will find a place for him to live. I just, again, I don’t know the timeline.”
