The trade center of the market is interesting
Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman on Saturday Central trade market headlines. Robert Thomas could be moved at the deadline, with the Utah Mammoth interested. Vincent Trocheck may not want to go far out West. Ryan O’Reilly wants to stay and the Flames are waiting on an offer for Nazem Kadri.

Friedman: “Yes, so much is being discussed now, about what kind of hot today are the centers. And you know, first of all, Robert Thomas rejoined the Blues today. He may play for them again tomorrow. And the best thing about his family, he was on vacation a little bit this week.
But you know, Ron, when his name first comes up, you report it, but you don’t believe it. Like, there’s no way Robert Thomas is for sale. I actually believe it is possible. I think there is a good chance that Robert Thomas can be traded at the deadline on Friday.

I believe one of the teams in this country is Utah. Bill Armstrong, Utah’s GM, drafted Robert Thomas to St. Louis, and that’s the connection there. But I think it’s actually possible. And I have to say, I’m a little surprised by that. I think it’s ready around him now.
Also, Vincent Trocheck, you’re another center that a lot of people are looking at. I said a few weeks ago that Trocheck prefers to stay in Mpumalanga. I think there have been a few far western teams that have approached him and been told it wouldn’t happen.
So, you know, I still think, you know, everybody’s talking about Minnesota. They’re not that far west, maybe. But his preference is in the East, and I think a few teams in the far West have been told he’s not going there.
And that means we get to Ryan O’Reilly first. And I’ve been told that Ryan O’Reilly has no desire to leave the Nashville Predators in the middle of the playoffs. They’re right there, and they’re winning in Dallas tonight. But it’s like dating Ron, the more someone tells you no, the more attractive they are. And I think teams continue to try to see if there’s any way they can tempt Nashville to do it. Although he is there, they have been told that he will be given the power to control where he can go.
And actually that brings me to Nazem Kadri, and I think the Flames have been waiting and waiting for a great offer to come. And I think that because there are all these institutions here, and we have to say that Thomas has the power to control this. You say yes or no.
But I think now Thomas is like playing. Trocheck, people think it will be managed. O’Reilly, they are not convinced. And that brings us to Kadri. And I, I think the center market is really growing, mainly because they are surprised that Thomas can be handled well. “
