“Okay, we’re going to Toronto. So earlier this week, Craig Berube was given a vote of confidence by GM Brad Treliving, and the organization. Treliving, too.
But another thing that happened this week, which I thought was very interesting, was that Peter DeBoer, who was thought to be a possible replacement for Craig Berube as coach of the Maple Leafs, sent a note through a friend to Berube saying, ‘Forget all this noise. I don’t belong here, and it doesn’t happen.
I found out about it. I sent a note to Berube about it, and all he said, I sent a note to DeBoer about it, and all he said was, ‘I was on the other side of that. I didn’t like that I was on its side this time.’ So he sent a letter through Berube’s spokesman, saying that any rumors about him were not true.”

“Some things out there. I was talking to a few teams today, everybody’s always looking for centers. You can’t have enough centers.
However, the Flyers signed Christian Dvorak on July 1 last year to a one-year contract. If you sign a one-year contract, the earliest you can do to extend is January 1st. Dvorak flyers talk about the extension.
I think everyone here can tell you that it has to work on both sides to make it happen. He played very well there. He has 24 points in 35 games. All I can say, Ron, is that there are other teams out there who don’t expect Dvorak to hit the market now. They think he will sign, but both sides have to make it work.

Egor Zamula is out of contract, but the Philadelphia Flyers would like to trade him

“Christmas Miracles will end in a few hours of midnight tonight (which ended last night). I think the cancellation could be very exciting. I heard there could be some interesting names in it. We’ll see what happens.
But one player I think is trying to find something here is another Flyer, Egor Zamula. He was fired earlier this year. $1.7 million this year and next. He is represented by Alex, the agent of Alex Texier who chose to terminate his contract to sign as a free agent with Montreal.
Obviously, there are offers to do this, too. I think there will be interest in the lower number. Philly prefers to trade for a player who can help them at the AHL level or later this year in the NHL. But zamulu will be a name to watch because he has cleared waivers, and is an NHL defenseman, not just a number at the moment for Philadelphia.
