The Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to make strategic additions

Expect Lightning GM Julien BriseBois to make some cozy additions
Dave Pagnotta of The Fourth Period joined Sirius XM NHL Network Radio on Wednesday with Steve Kouleas and Nate Thompson. There, he was asked about what the Tampa Bay Lightning are doing at the deadline, and Pagnotta said it will be a strategic addition to help them win.

Nate Thompson: “I want to talk about the competing teams, especially Tampa, because there were rumors on our team in Artemi Panarin, too. And, I think, what we can do or not expect the unexpected in Tampa as the trade deadline approaches, and they possibly do whatever it takes.”
NHL Rumors: New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens
Dave Pagnotta: “Yes, you can’t count them. You have to keep an eye on them. I think this was a different situation where these players are obviously not available very often. So you try to throw your hat in the ring and try to participate in it. But I talked to Julien BriseBois well at the weekend, Sunday, before Cames he will like the Stadium. he adds. But any important addition they make, it should benefit the club now and beyond.
So you look for players who are manageable, or players who have more time than this season. BriseBois is ready to make moves. There have been talks that he is even willing to consider moving some of his top prospects to do something. But it has to fit their game plan, and it has to fit financially. They don’t have a ton of cap space. So they will have to be a little more creative here if they make a strong addition.
Now, one player that I think they’ve been around though, that they’ve had interest in before, is the former Bolt, Blake Coleman, in Calgary. There was a lot of smoke last week, obviously he’s dealing with a bit of an injury. But that’s a quality player I could see going back.
Someone with a strong hit number, someone who won’t cost the entire farm, but will still take a certain amount to remove him from wherever he is. This time, Calgary and the Flames are willing to listen.
NHL Rumors: Calgary Flames, Utah Mammoth, and Nazem Kadri
So that’s the type of player, your middle-of-the-six type of possession that I think helps get them over the edge. I was at their game last night (Tuesday), the guys here in Tampa against Buffalo. Much to their surprise, it was actually Brandon Hagel, Jake Guentzel, and Nikita Kucherov that kind of led the team the whole way. And they pulled it off, with a comeback win in overtime.
They’re adding to it, and they’re healthy, they’re going to be very dangerous, and (Andrei Vasilevskiy) Vasy is playing lights out. Darren Raddysh is absolutely amazing. Victor Hedman is back in the mix, so they can add to it. This team is going to be very strong, and that’s what I think BriseBois was looking to do. But it’s a strategic ad. It’s not just going for the shiny piece that’s out there.”
