New York Rangers, Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck

Are Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck on their way from New York?

During an appearance on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, The Fourth Period’s Dave Pagnotta and Dennis Bernstein joined Steve Kouleas to discuss where things stand with Artemi Panarin and the New York Rangers. Pagnotta also revealed that teams have been calling about Vincent Trocheck.

Steve Kouleas: “The whole East. This is great. It’s great, unless maybe you’re the Rangers. Right? Mike brought up Chris Drury, wow. I don’t know what’s happening or not. Jeff Gorton did well in Montreal, rebuilding the Habs, right?”

Dave Pagnotta: “Yeah, that’s great.”

NHL Injuries: Bruins, Blackhawks, Wild, Kraken, Blues, Lightning, Leafs, and more

Kouleas: “That worked really well. Youngest team. Teams said after that, they’re the fastest team in the league, maybe around, like all players. How good the Habs have looked this season. What about the Rangers? Despite the 8-4 blowout last night?”

Pagnotta: “Yes, they are, I don’t know if the topic of the Drury conversation, or anything, will happen now. I think this is something after the season, which leads me to fully believe, and I think James Dolan has admitted this as well, that they will be patient. Whatever that is in his definition. And Drury is a guy who has to ride with him.

They want to find out what is going on with Artemi Panarin. Can they sign him to a favorable contract, and for me, I believe, it’s about a three-year contract?”

Dennis Bernstein: “Yes, it’s about the term.”

Pagnotta: “The DB is on the right.”

Kouleas: “How much? 12?”

Pagnotta: “It will be in and around what he is doing now.

Kouleas: “He makes $11.64 million”

Bernstein: “It won’t be much. It won’t be (Kirill) Kaprizov’s number.”

Pagnotta: “No. So no, it won’t even be if he hits the open market. But if they see they can’t sign him, I think they’ll want to move him. What I’ve heard in the last few days, I can say in the last 24 hours, what’s interesting is, whenever teams start not doing well. Everybody starts to come in, right?”

NHL Rumors: New York Rangers Should Trade Artemi Panarin

Kouleas: “Yes, yes.”

Pagnotta: “Teams have been asking about Vinnie Trocheck.”

Kouleas: “Oh!!”

Pagnotta: “He’s a no-trade limit. I don’t remember what his trade list parameter is, but he has some protection. He’s got a few years left. Not saying he’s going to do it, but teams are now coming in and having a conversation about Vinnie Trocheck. I’ve heard at least one Western Conference team has been hunting him.”

NHLRumors.com Note: With the medium market thin right now, Trocheck could be a valuable piece of the commercial market if it can be found. Several teams will be looking to add his services, given his title this year and the two seasons after that. But the New York Rangers have to decide now that everyone is available. Once again, Panarin has a choice about where he wants to go, but since he won’t sign, the best thing he can do is move him.
