The Nitto ATP Finals continues to raise the bar on and off the court.
The Italian Tennis and Padel Federation (FITP) has announced that the 2025 edition of the premier season finale has received ISO 20121:2024 certification from Bureau Veritas, the international standard for sustainable event management.
This recognition reflects a comprehensive framework designed to manage the competition’s environmental, social and economic impact at all levels of its organization. To achieve the certification, FITP worked together with Enovation Consulting, a sports sustainability strategy specialist and event partner from 2024. Together they implemented an ESG (environmental, social and governance) program that sets measurable goals, tracks the environmental footprint of the competition and establishes processes for continuous improvement.
An important aspect of this approach has been the measurement and monitoring of CO2 emissions linked to the event, accompanied by the publication of a dedicated ESG report in line with international best practices and the wider sustainability commitment of the ATP Tour.
The sustainability program surrounding the Nitto ATP Finals also extends beyond the Turin arena. With the Torino Green project – developed with ATP and our partner Nitto Denko Corporation – environmental initiatives in the host city include urban greening efforts and biodiversity-focused projects designed to deliver a lasting environmental impact.
In the wake of the event, the organizers have introduced a series of practical measures aimed at reducing the environmental impact. These include expanded recycling systems, the use of compostable materials in key tourist areas and programs designed to encourage sustainable use throughout the area.
Transportation and energy have also been at the core of the competition’s strategy. The event runs on certified renewable energy sources, while fans are encouraged to travel more sustainably by using incentives linked to public transport and trains.
Along with environmental priorities, the ESG framework places a strong emphasis on social engagement. Programs including schools, accessibility programs and philanthropic partnerships linked to the tournament are designed to ensure that the event creates a positive legacy for the city of Turin and its citizens.
With the new certification in place, the Nitto ATP Finals continues to strengthen its approach to sustainability, combining world-class tennis with a growing focus on responsible event management and long-term impact.
