Team USA Makes Its Decision On Adam Fox After Four Nations
Friedman: “One thing about the Rangers, Kyle, did you see Adam Fox after the game?
Fox: “I mean, I’m just trying to, you know, focus on this year right now and play each game. I mean that’s all I could do, I can do right now. I can control, you know, I’ve been trying to work on coming back and helping the team finish strong. So I think, that’s where my head is. Obviously, you know, that’s what I have to focus on when we’re playing games. We’re trying to win games and do that tonight, and I think that’s where, that’s where my focus is right now.”
Bukauskas: “That sounds like a guy who is starting to think about his future.”
Friedman: “That said to me it’s an end-of-season conversation.”
Bukauskas: “Yes.”
Friedman: “And one thing I will notice here is that, this guy who shook heaven and earth, as was his right under the CBA rules, this guy who moved heaven and earth to become a Ranger.
NHLRumors.com Note: The story between Adam Fox and the New York Rangers has been brewing since the start of the season. Head coach Mike Sullivan commented on Fox’s game and said he thought he could play at a very high level. Fox, like the rest of the Rangers, didn’t have a great 2024-25 season, but Fox bounced back and showed he can still be a top defenseman in the NHL.

As mentioned in the Podcast, the Rangers and Adam Fox will revisit this at the end of the season because, since Letter 2.0, Fox, JT Miller, Mika Zibanejad, and Igor Shesterkin weren’t going anywhere. But given the way Fox was left off the Olympic team, with other Rangers leaving as Sullivan and GM Chris Drury pleaded with them to move on, Fox is considering the move and whether it fits into Sullivan’s plan.
The New York Rangers are open for business. It will be interesting to see how far this rebuild goes. Because it is what it is. Not a retool.

Emily Kaplan: “Yeah, the center that’s getting a ton of interest right now is Nazem Kadri with the Calgary Flames. I think they’ve had a conversation with him. He’s open to being moved. And obviously, he’d get a ton of interest around the league. I’d keep an eye on the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars.
The St Louis Blues, I heard they are buying their players, hard prices, very high, that’s what I keep hearing. But Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas, and Justin Faulk are all in the mix.
And kind of under the radar guy, but Connor Murphy of the Chicago Blackhawks. Assume that the trade may be executed sometime in the next few days. “
