Tottenham are increasing security for club officials amid fan unrest

Tottenham have reportedly increased security measures for their senior officials following frustration from fans.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, the tension between Spurs officials and fans has come to a head, which has led the club to take measures to protect its leadership in recent away games.
Senior officials have been deliberately kept away from fans when they arrive and when they leave, and enhanced security details are now standard across the board.
The move comes as protest group “Tottenham Change” steps up its calls for a complete overhaul of the club’s ownership and transfer strategy.
Enhanced security of positions amid growing unrest
The decision to beef up the board’s security follows a series of tensions at the games.
In recent away games, including a 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth and a 2-2 draw with Burnley, managers have reportedly gone into private tunnels to avoid clashes with angry traveling fans.
The exit of long-time chairman Daniel Levy was aimed at re-establishing relations with the stands.
However, figures like CEO Vinai Venkatesham and sports directors have inherited the scrutiny.
Fans have expressed frustration at high ticket prices and a lack of ambition, leading the club to prioritize “separation zones” to ensure the safety of officials.
Fans and players involved in recent conflicts
The poison was not confined to the board; it has spilled into the field.
After falling late against Bournemouth earlier this month, stars Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro were caught in a heated exchange with their fans.
Similar incidents were held several times during a poor domestic season under Ange Postecoglou.
In fact, Postecoglou himself was seen to clash with Spurs fans at times last season.
Worrying home form vs Impressive Champions League run
It’s been a weird season, just like last season. Internally, Tottenham find themselves sitting in 14th place in the Premier League, having won only two of their 14 league games.
They have already been eliminated from both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
In sharp contrast, Spurs finished the Champions League group stage as the fourth best team in Europe, entering the Round of 16 with a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt this week.
