What Are The Buffalo Sabers Planning To Do Next?

Who Is Part Of The Buffalo Sabers Core Moving Forward?
Dave Pagnotta of The Fourth Season joined Sirius XM NHL Network Radio with Dennis Bernstein and Steve Kouleas on the Power Play and was asked, once Alex Tuch’s direction is fixed, what will the Buffalo Sabers do next in terms of looking at the core of this team and what should they build around?
Writing for NHLRumors.com
Dennis Bernstein: “Dave, once that business (the Alex Tuch negotiations) is resolved one way or another, what are you doing with this core? With (Tage) Thompson, and (Rasmus) Dahlin, and (Owen) Amandla? “Is this fixable? In one or two moves, should you take out the main player? What do you think is going on with Alex Tuch?
Dave Pagnotta: “Well, I think it’s been pointed out. And look, here first, I’ll add to this that the fact that they had Jarmo Kekäläinen come in the summer as a consultant, as a senior consultant, allowed him to familiarize himself with the organization. This is not a situation where the flu and his team need the time of his staff, to get the time of his staff, to get the time of his staff. to be in the program, what’s going to happen, all those things. He still has months to get all of that he goes through it again and analyzes it.
NHL Rumors: Los Angeles Kings still need to score
So that’s a big bonus in terms of just, a new guy coming in, who’s well-educated and able to pitch his tent on things quickly, and during that time before this change happens. The Sabers have identified that Thompson and Dahlin are the two guys in the main head and this team. And yes, of course, you have Owen Power, you have Bowen Byram. He has a good sounding d-corp with (Michael) Kesselring once he’s healthy.
And then you have (Mattias) Samuelson back there. You have a lot of other pieces up front, some smaller pieces up front, (Zach) Benson, (Josh) Doan, etc. I think you point to those key pieces and say, OK, this is how we want the rest of this to look, and this is where we might be forced to make moves to better our team in other areas.
Bowen Byram and Owen Power are no strangers to rumors. Byram, especially above. This goes back to last season. Power to a certain extent. His name came up. It appeared over the draft, and then in the summer. I think Thompson and Dahlin are the best here. They are primaries. Then you find, you know the pieces of Part B, and you build around all of that.
If they want to be aggressive about adding forwards, you can use one of those defenders to try to bring more explosiveness to the front spine and the top six. That would not be possible. And frankly, guys, it wouldn’t surprise me if they go down that road, whether they use Byram or Amandla or UPL on the net.
NHL Rumors: How Aggressive Will the Buffalo Sabers Be?
NHLRumors.com Note: The Buffalo Sabers enter the break on a seven-game winning streak. They are 5-0 since Jarmo Kekäläinen. There is a belief in the room that they can make the playoffs and end the drought. Once again, the teams will be calling some of their players, especially goalkeepers. At some point, Kekäläinen will need to decide who gets sent off because the three-keeper system doesn’t work.
