What Senne Lammens did after Raul Jimenez scored for Fulham

The action of Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lemmens following Raul Jimenez’s penalty drew attention when five goals were scored at Old Trafford.
United’s resurgence under interim manager Michael Carrick continued in breathless fashion on Sunday, as Benjamin Sesko’s 94th-minute winner secured a shock 3-2 victory at Fulham.
The win marks Carrick’s third in a row since taking over as interim manager, taking United back into the Premier League’s top four.
What Senne Lammens did after Raul Jimenez scored
While the late goals provided the headlines, one of the greatest moments of the afternoon came in the 85th minute.
After Harry Maguire was adjudged to have brought down Raul Jimenez in the box, the Mexican striker stepped up to send a clinical penalty into the top corner, putting United up 2-1.
Rather than the usual scenes of frustration or drama, Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens was seen performing an act of pure play.
As Jimenez turned to celebrate, Lammens calmly slotted the ball into the net to put Fulham ahead.
According to BBC Radio 5 Live commentator Alistair Bruce-Ball, the Belgium keeper “congratulated Raul Jimenez on the class of that penalty,” admitting the strike was well done as it threatened his side’s lead.

Sesko scored in Fergie’s half to make it 3 out of 3 for Michael Carrick
The enthusiasm from Lammens almost overshadowed the defense.
Minutes after the penalty, Fulham substitute Kevin silenced the Stretford End with a stunning stoppage time effort, curling a shot past Lammens to make it 2-2.

However, Michael Carrick’s United seem to have rediscovered the “Fergie Time” DNA.
In the 94th minute, Bruno Fernandes crossed the ball from the right which found Benjamin Sesko.
The Slovenian striker caught a sharp hand before turning and slotting the ball home, sending fans into a frenzy.

This is Man United’s second successive late winner, after Matheus Cunha scored a stunning goal against Arsenal last week.
The result maintains Carrick’s 100% record, following wins over Manchester City and Arsenal, and cements United’s position as the form team at the start of 2026.

A good start for Michael Carrick as interim manager
In addition to winning, it is the game and fighting spirit that Carrick has quickly instilled that suggests the old Man United DNA may be returning.
