We put 6 golfers between 6 full bag installations to create their dream sets

Welcome to Full Fit 2026the new GOLF platform to give you real-golfer insight into which 2026 gears might best suit your game. So far, we’ve brought together six GOLF content creators of varying abilities and sent them through a six-pack full-size golf bag (driver to putter!) at six major club manufacturers in Phoenix and Carlsbad, Calif. We hope that you may see the shadows of your game in one of our editors and learn something and inspiration from their relevant experience.

It was a great experiment.
Instead of sifting through each new release from the major golf club companies this year in a way that doesn’t guide you to what’s best for your game, we did something different. We sent six of our GOLF creators to six of the best manufacturer locations in Phoenix and Southern California six full bagging within nine days.
The goal was simple: compile each of our 2026 club team planners’ dreams in the hope that you might relate to one of their games and be able to learn more about what clubs can do for you.
INCLUDE VERY MUCH: Fit Fully hub page | Why we’re ‘testing’ golf clubs differently this year | Browse 2026 drivers | Browse 2026 instruments
A dream trip? No doubt – but it’s worrying, too! (See small violins.)
Panelists include our Full Gear GOLF team – Johnny Wunder (director), Jake Morrow (content manager) and myself (co-editor) – along with GOLF editors Sean Zak and Maddi MacClurg, and Fairway Jockey president Wadeh Maroun.
It was an education like no other. We learned about our swings, our games, our clubs and our bodies – like how many golf balls we can hit in a week without breaking.

Fully Qualified 2026 Day 1: Ping Proving Grounds (Phoenix)
Jack Hirsh/GOLF
Our journey began in Phoenix on a flat grass drive in the middle of an industrial park. The location of the Ping Proving Grounds makes a lot of sense when you consider the long industrial history of Ping’s parent company, Karsten Manufacturing.
At the Proving Grounds, we encountered our first shocker of the tour: the new Ping G440 K driver, a club that can be hit in the face and blast the ball like a rocket. The new S259 wedges also proved popular. Did we all just get our driver at the first stop of the trip? Of course, it was too early to make any decisions, but it was a good reminder that each company’s machines are very good; the final choice would not be an easy task.
Fully Qualified 2026 Day 2: TaylorMade Kingdom (Carlsbad, Calif.)
;)
Adam Christensen
A quick jump from the sun-baked desert to the coast of Southern California, and we were on our way to TaylorMade’s Kingdom. The name was fitting as we changed shoes in the locker room next to Tiger Woods’ golf bag while looking at Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy’s bags for their major win in 2025.
At TaylorMade, the fairway battles kicked into high gear with multiple approvals for their new Qi4D drivers, fairway woods and hybrids. Many of us were also eager to qualify for the Spider putter, the most successful putter family on the PGA Tour last year.
Filly Full 2026 Day 3: Titleist Performance Institute (Oceanside, Calif.)
;)
Jack Hirsh/GOLF
Our next stop brought us to arguably the most impressive OEM resource center: the Titleist Performance Institute. The TPI is less of a fairground and more of a Candy Land for golfers. A large 33-acre driving range set on a terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean with 10 different greens that can play as a par-3 or a short course designed by David McLay-Kidd.
Here our putters were taught the “three D’s” of Titleist’s putting irons while being introduced to the latest Vokey SM11 wedges and Scotty Cameron Phantom putters — not to mention putting the ball from top to bottom to dial in the most important piece of gear in the bag. We’re done, but there’s more to come!
Philly Full 2026 Day 4: Cobra Tour Qualifying Experience (Encinitas, Calif.)
;)
Jack Hirsh/GOLF
At the end of our first week, we arrived behind the range at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course to work with the Cobra team and their new OPTM metalwoods and 3DP iron lineup. Cobra’s Tour Fitting Experience uses its classic Tour Truck to give players the feel of a Tour-level fit, and we got just that, thanks to an appearance by tour attorney Ben Schomin.
We could end the trip right here. The entire 2026 Cobra lineup, top to bottom, is the best we’ve ever seen, and everyone could walk away with everything they needed to play a great golf game. But the show goes on!
Philly Full 2026 Day 5: Ely Callaway Performance Center (Carlsbad, Calif.)
;)
Adam Christensen/GOLF
Our second week of conditioning saw our team refreshed after the weekend off and ready to head to Callaway’s Ely Callaway Performance Center, where speed was the name of the game.
Callaway’s new Quantum drivers were fast and, combined with the new 2026 Chrome Tour golf balls, they fit. ImmediatelyMany of us see our fastball speed for the trip. Now we all had a lot to think about when it came to our setup.
Philly Full 2026 Day 6: Cleveland/Srixon/XXIO at Navy Golf Course (Cypress, Calif.)
;)
Adam Christensen/GOLF
Our sixth and final stop on the tour took us north to Orange County, where a young Tiger Woods learned the game at the Navy Golf Course. We’ve all been on our last legs, we’ve pushed our bodies to the limit, but sometimes that’s the best time to be strong.
On our last day, we were transferred to the Cleveland/Srixon line, including their popular ZXi line of RTZ bars and wedges. If we were sure of what our bags would look like, leave them in one place to give us more options than we would ever need.
And…that was a wrap. We headed home, armed with a set of golf clubs that fit our needs. Which ones did we choose? Check out our final WITBs below.
