NHL Injuries: Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Oilers, Kings, Islanders, Kraken, Canucks and more

Eric Stephens: Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson missed last night’s game with a lower back injury. He was injured against the Blue Jackets last week and was not expected to play on Saturday, but he was there.
Stephen Whyno: Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin and forward Seth Jarvis are week-to-week with upper-body injuries.
- Chip Alexander: Coach Rod Brind’Amour said Jarvis is out with a rib injury and thinks Slavin is out because of Greer’s hit.
The NHL: Hurricanes forward Jordan Martinook missed his third straight game last night with a lower body injury.
Aaron Portzline: Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski missed last night’s game. Coach Dean Evason said Werenski did everything he could to be on the roster, but the team felt it was best to give him five full days to recover. It is counted as day by day.
Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets forward Miles Wood is back in the lineup.
The NHL: Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane will miss his fifth straight game tonight with an upper body injury.
The NHL: Edmonton Oilers goaltender Tristan Jarry will be out for a few weeks, according to coach Kris Knoblauch.
Zach Dooley: Los Angeles Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper was in the news yesterday. It’s unlikely he’ll play tonight, but good news nonetheless.
Coach Jim Hiller: “We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but when you see it, you start to see progress. It’s hard to gauge how long it will take, but you like to see it progress.”
Stephen Rosner: New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin will not be on the roster tonight due to a “minor nagging issue.”
Adam Kimelman: Philadelphia Flyers forward Christian Dvorak (lower body) and goaltender Dan Vladar (upper-body) returned to the lineup last night after missing Saturday’s game.
The Daily Faceoff: San Jose Sharks forward Will Smith will be out week-to-week with an injury.
Kate Shefte of the Seattle Times: Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour will be out nearly four weeks after undergoing surgery on his hand and being placed on IR.
Montour was injured during a fight with Brent Burns back on December 16th. It was hard to see exactly what happened, but it looked like multiple punches could hit Burns’ helmet.
Outfielder Berkley Catton is set to return to the lineup. Forwards Jared McCann and Jaden Schwartz are not traveling with the team on their four-game road trip that ends tonight.
Dan Arritt: Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn left in the third period last night after hitting Ducks forward Ross Johnston.
