Tyler Myers remains patient, while Elias Pettersson is likely to stay for now
TSN: Tyler Myers and his agent JP Barry remain patient to see if another team will make an offer to the Vancouver Canucks they are happy with, according to Pierre LeBrun. Believe that the Detroit Red Wings offer is still on the table.
LeBrun says the team continues to ask the Canucks about Elias Pettersson, according to his sources, but he thinks it’s unlikely he’ll be traded. The inconsistency of his contract makes teams hesitant. The Canucks are fine with the idea of not trading him now.
“But whether it’s the Carolina Hurricanes or the Los Angeles Kings, there are definitely teams looking at the center and looking at him, I think.”
I don’t see the Canucks wanting to keep any salary.

Conor Garland receives interest from Mpumalanga
TSN: Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland is getting some interest from Eastern Conference teams, according to Chris Johnston. His six-year contract doesn’t start until next year.
“That includes the New York Islanders, who are connected to him, although I was warned about trying to direct that. Nothing is being done when it comes to the Islanders and Garland but definitely at this time the Canucks are working on this interest and seeing if they can do something about Garland before Friday.”
Stephen Rosner: Don’t think Garland can call the Islanders a first-round pick.
“NYI will be doing #Floods grace, with Garland’s 6 × 6 extension holding NMC for the first three seasons of the deal. The second (or any year) and hope makes more sense. “

Jake DeBrusk is not interested in rebuilding the Canucks
Ben Kuzma of the State: The Vancouver Canucks are going through a rebuild, and forward Jake DeBrusk doesn’t want to be a part of any rebuild.
“I think rebuilding is tough for every player, but at the same time it’s a great opportunity for the younger guys,” DeBrusk said. “This game is humbling for everyone and it has been more than humbling this year.
“My game doesn’t match that.”
The 29-year-old DeBrusk has four years left on his $5.5 million contract. He is in control if the Canucks try to trade him with the no-movement clause. He scored 28 goals last season, but has only 13 so far this season, and only two have been in 5v5.

Waiting in Vancouver
